One of the most exciting developments in the film industry in the last decade is the introduction of 4K resolution video. 4K is more than four times the resolution of 1080p HD video. Within the last 6 months, a few prosumer 4K cameras have entered the market. Signal Light Productions is pleased to be leading the pack in railroading entertainment. We have now preordered a Panasonic HC WX970 which is the best of the best for 4K camcorders. We are also looking into the GoPro Hero 4 Black, which shoots in 4K. These cameras would supplement our existing equipment which includes two older Sony Handycams and a new GoPro Hero 3 White, which is capable of 1080p. As well as the new cameras, we have also invested in a new MacBook Pro for better editing capabilities. This will make editing with Final Cut Pro X much quicker. To round out our upgrades, we just added Aperture to our editing software lineup. Aperture is a professional grade photo editing software with all the simplicity of iPhoto, but the precision of several hundred dollar programs.
